Our story
BergenTrip exists because most online travel advice about Bergen is wrong, outdated, or written by people who have never been. The Fish Market gets recommended as a place to eat. Hotels in Fana get listed as “central.” The funicular queue advice tells you to arrive at 10am, which is exactly when every cruise ship passenger arrives.
We built this site to give independent travellers the kind of advice they'd get from a friend who lives here: specific, honest, and updated regularly. The guide covers the city itself, the mountains above it, the fjords around it, and the practical details that make the difference between a good trip and a great one.
Editorial standards
Every place we recommend is recommended because we think it's genuinely good, not because anyone has paid us to feature it. We don't accept payment for editorial coverage. If we have a financial relationship with any partner (such as booking links), it will be disclosed clearly.
Prices and opening hours change. We update content regularly but we're a small operation, not a database. Always verify current prices and times on the official website of the attraction, transport operator, or venue before you rely on them.
When we say something is overpriced, crowded, or not worth your time, we mean it. When we recommend something highly, we do so because we'd send our own family there. That's the standard.
